| summaries: | Iwami-Kagura : It is a very popular traditional performance in the Iwami district(western part of Shimane prefecture)and there are a lot of Kagura-shachu groups in the area. We play more than 30 titles of the Kagura performance. It is said that originally Iwami-Kagura was performed by Shinto priests in the second half of Muromachi period. Nowadays, in the Hamada area the rhythm of the performances has shifted into a dynamic, faster 8 tunes rhythm from One of the Kagura-shachu(Kagura group) of Hamada city. We also have a kids Kagura-shachu. | Performance schedules: | Performance schedules on April 2005 4/16 Asari ShrineÃÔ Spring Annual Festival(18:00-24:00) AdultÃÔ group performance at Asari-cho, Hamada city 4/17 Rail & Kagura event(JR Iwami-kagura competition) Kids Kagura-group at Sekioh Culture Hall 4/23 Tsuma-Omoto Shrine Spring Annual Festival(21:00-7:00 next day) AdultÃÔ group performance at Tsuma-cho, Hamada city Kagura: This dance is performed with a bell and a fan in hands at the very beginning of the plays . It is also called as "Suzu-mai". Shioharai: This dance purifies the four corners of Kagura stage for the visit of Kami(Gods) Kamimukae: Same kind of dance as Shioharai. Purify the center of Kagura stage for Kami. Hachiman: This title is one of the typical Kagura performances which shows the confrontation between justice and wrong. Jinrin: One of the most popular Iwami-Kagura performance. A pair of Kami and a pair of demons appear on the stage. Kurozuka: One of the most populara Iwami-Kagura performance in Iwami region. Jingidaiko: Only musical accompaniment. No dancing part. Shouki: It is said that this is the most precious dance performance of Iwami-Kagura. Therefore, the whole Kagura-shachu(group) put on their most gorgeous costumes when they perform this dance. Orochi: Other Kagura performances cannot compare with this large scale performance.
